General:

Have you ever wondered who supports after school activities like Bearstock, Late Night, After Prom and the Junior High 5th quarter –just to name a few?  Booster Club is always working hard to support our students!!   Booster Club needs you-  ItÕs not to late to join!!  Booster Club Memberships thru Friday, September 10th are as follows:  Individual-$15, Family- $20, Business- $40, Red and Blue- $100 (includes 2 Booster Club T-shirts).  After September 11th the prices will increase to the following:  Individual- $20, Family- $25, Business- $45, Red and Blue-$100 (includes 2 Booster Club T-Shirts). 

 

Booster will be taking orders for sweatshirts ($16) and hoodies ($20) until Friday.  Order forms and money need to be turned into the office by the end of school on Friday.  Any questions contact Julie McGinnis, Tammy Fowler, or Tami Bowser.

 

The 4th annual  OHS Community Clean-up day will be held on Wednesday, September 22nd.  All 9th-12th grade students will be participating in the Clean-up Day and attendance is required for this community service learning event.  Parent information was mailed home  on Tuesday.  Parents/Community members:  if you are interested in volunteering or if you have a request for work, please contact the school at (785) 863-2281.

 

Detentions will be served with Ms. Kasparek and Friday Night School will be served with Ms. Willits this week.

 

Junior High (7-8):

Booster Club will be selling Bears T-Shirts ($8) and taking orders for sweatshirts and hoodies at the football game on Thursday. 

 

Congratulations to the new jr. high GCTL members: Bree Brooks, Rachel Harding, Sophie Scales-Divney, Faith Ward, Olivia Jacobs, Austin Fowler and Chris Rosencutter.

 

Senior High (9-12):

There will be a meeting for all Students with PERS privileges TODAY during activity period in the HS lunchroom.

 

The lady bears traveled to JCN last night where they took on McLouth and JCN.  Both varsity and JV teams came home with two more wins making each of their records 4-0. Varsity beat McLouth 29-27, 25-17, JCN  25-23, 25-23; The varsity team is currently ranked 2nd in 2A state!

 

These students need to see Mrs. McNamara about fall sports pictures:  Austin Tavis, Jackie Visocsky, Olivia Swift, and Delanie Young.

 

Attention FCCLA officers:  The officers training meeting scheduled for this Thursday the 9th has been changed to Next Thursday the 16th due to expected bad weather.  We will have an officers meeting Tuesday the 14th during activity period to discuss meeting plans on Thursday the 16th.

Please let me know by Friday if you can not attend the meeting on the 16th.  Officers are Jessica C.  President, Katie B. Vice Pres., Kinsey B. Secretary, Anna F. treasurer,  Taylor W, Korbin S., JackieV. Nikki K, Olivia S., Autumn H., Michelle P., Megan G., will decide on Tuesday which of the other offices they would be willing to serve as.  This is a great group and I look forward to working with you all. Attention all interested students:  The first Scholars' Bowl meeting is September 15 during activity period.  Everyone is welcome as we need 10 to 15 participants to always have a varsity and junior varsity team.  No prior experience necessary.  Limber up your buzzer finger and come join us.

 

All Washburn Tech students need to see Mr. Beisel at their earliest convenience.

 

Students who wish to visit with the K-State Rep she will be here Thursday during Activity period in Mr. Shreve's office.

NHS Members- If you have not signed up for to work Thursday's concession stand please see Mrs. Beecham today to do so.

 

Seniors who are taking the ACT test this Saturday.........Please see Mr. Shreve ASAP.

 

FBLA Dues of $15 are due to Mrs. Adams or Brooke Beach by the end of September.  Make checks to USD341.

 

There is a junior class meeting in the gym during AP on Thursday, September 9, to select prom DJ.

 

Sophomores, there will be a class meeting on Friday in the Commons Area.

 

Attention FBLA members:  Would you like to go to Fall Leadership in Des Moines, Iowa November 5-7?  Let Mrs. Adams know if you want to go by Friday, September 17th.  It will cost you $100 paid by October 1st.
